CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”).

ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to all residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry, except employees (and those with whom such employees are domiciled) of The WoodSource (the “Sponsor”).

HOW TO ENTER

No purchase required. To enter the Contest, sign up for The WoodSource newsletter online during the Contest Period through the following link: newsletter sign-up.

Fill out the form with your full name (first and last) and valid email address. The completed sign-up form counts as one (1) entry.

Limit of one (1) entry per person per Contest Period, unless otherwise indicated. In the case of multiple entries, only the first eligible entry will be considered and the remainder will be void.

If you attempt or are suspected of attempting to enter more than once or use robotic, automatic, programmed or any entry methods not authorized by these rules, it shall be deemed as tampering and will void your entries. Entry forms become the property of The WoodSource and will not be returned to you.

To be valid, entries must be received by 5:00 p.m., March 27, 2022 EDT.

PROCEDURE FOR AWARDING PRIZES

On March 30, 2022, a random draw will be conducted by the Marketing and Ecommerce Coordinator from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

The selected entrant will be contacted by email and notified that they are eligible to win. The selected entrant must reply by email within 48 hours and provide the Sponsor with a contact phone number. The selected entrant must firstly correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by telephone. The Sponsor will then email, and the selected entrant will be required to sign and return withing one (1) business day of notification, a declaration of eligibility and a liability/publicity release which:

confirms compliance with contest rules;

releases the Sponsor, its affiliated companies and agents from any liability in connection with the Contest, the entrant’s participation therein and/or the awarding and use or misuse of the prize or any portion thereof;

grants the Sponsor the right to use the selected entrant’s name and likeness in any form of advertising relating to the contest without further notice or compensation.

If a selected entrant: (i) cannot be contacted by email within 48 hours of selection or there is a return of any prior notification as undeliverable; (ii) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question; or (iii) fails to return the contest documents within the specified time, then he/she will be disqualified and will forfeit the prize, and the Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate entrant from among the remaining eligible entries.

DESCRIPTION OF PRIZE

There will be one (1) grand prize available to be won consisting of the pergola displayed at The WoodSource booth at the Ottawa Home and Garden show. The Grand Prize includes:

• (4) Toja Grid SOLO base brackets
• (4) Toja Grid TRIO corner brackets
• (1) 10x10 Toja Grid Shade Sail
• (8) 6x6 Douglas Fir posts

The approximate retail value of the grand prize is $2,250 CDN (before tax).

The prize will be available for pick-up from The WoodSource (6178 Mitch Owens Rd, Manotick, ON K4M 1B2) beginning March 29, 2022. The prize needs to be picked up within thirty (30) days of the contest end date, or the prize shall be forfeited and The WoodSource has the right, at its sole discretion, to select another winner.

Alternatively, the winner can choose to have The WoodSource deliver the prize, provided the winner lives within The WoodSource’s local delivery area. A credit of $60 will be applied towards the delivery charge. Any additional cost for delivery will need to be covered by the winner, prior to delivery.

It is up to the winner to correctly install the pergola.

GENERAL RULES

To be declared a winner, the selected contestant must first correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question.

Each winner shall sign a release declaring their eligibility of these rules; agreeing that their name, image and/or voice may be used for advertising purposes related to this Contest free of charge; and releasing The WoodSource, as well as its respective directors, officers and employees (the “Contest Parties”) from all liability for any damage or loss arising from participation in this Contest or from the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize.

The prize shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged or refunded for an amount of money, sold or transferred. No substitutions will be allowed. Any unused portion of a prize will be forfeited.

If the prize cannot be awarded as described in these rules, The WoodSource reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable value, as determined in its sole discretion.

Refusal to accept the prize releases the Contest Parties from any obligation toward the winner.

If a contestant makes any false statement, (s)he will be automatically disqualified from the Contest.

The Contest Parties assume no liability for any loss, damage or injury, including without limitation: (i) lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, late, destroyed, illegible or incomplete entries; (ii) loss, theft or damage to software or computer or telephone data, including any breach of privacy; (iii) fraudulent calls; (iv) inability of any person to participate in the Contest for any reason including mistaken addresses on mail or e-mail; technical, computer or telephone malfunctions or other problems with computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, or software; congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination of the foregoing; (v) damage to any person’s computer, including as a result of playing or downloading any material relating to the Contest; (vi) any delay or inability to act resulting from an event or situation beyond their control, including a strike, lockout or other labour dispute at their location or the locations of the organizations and businesses whose services are used to administer this Contest; or (vii) prizes that are lost, damaged or misdirected during shipping.

The WoodSource reserves the right to cancel or suspend this Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, The WoodSource reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.

By providing your personal information (full name and email), you consent to it being used for the stated purposes – signing up for The WoodSource newsletters and entering the contest.

If the identity of a contestant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the contestant. The individual assigned to the e-mail address for the domain associated with the submitted email address is considered the authorized account holder. A selected contestant may be required to provide proof that (s)he is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry. All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified by reverse domain name search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this Contest will be the Contest server.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. All entries that are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, using any robotic, automatic programmed method that artificially increases the odds of winning or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the rules may be disqualified by the The WoodSource. The WoodSource is not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Contest.

The WoodSource reserves the right to amend the Contest rules or to terminate the Contest at any time without any liability to any contestant. Any amendments to these Contest rules will be posted on the Website.
